ACL Surgery Recovery - Day 2

May 30th, 2003 2:00 AM - So i think i'm getting better at getting around. I have my cooler refills down to a science, and am able to cook my own canned foods well enough, but I think I might be ready for some real food eventually. The doctor said to take it easy for the first couple days, and I don't want to risk having an upset stomach especially when it is hard to get out of bed.

My knee bending excercise is still an extremely difficult ordeal. I can't even lift my leg without help from my arms or a push from my other leg. My leg feels like it weighs about 50 pounds. If I try to lift to hard, i'm afriad that I will hurt my knee again. I will have to excercise my leg more today and I'm not looking forward to it.

Also, I talked to some of my pharmacy school friends, and they said to back off on the painkillers and only take them as needed, because they are highly addictive. That is good to know, and I'm thankful to have some friends in pharmacy school. The last thing I want to happen is me getting hooked on painkillers.

I'm still waking up at odd times during the day... about once every 3 hours now. After I wake up, I can do things about an hour, then I pass out again. I feel about the same as I felt yesterday, but I'm supposed to be able to go out in a couple more days.
