ACL Surgery Recovery - Week 7

July 19th, 2003

Eh... slight setback. My leg has been sore for the last 3 days. It doesn't feel bad, it just is more sore than it used to be when I bend it. I think I might be pushing my leg a little too hard. No more being careless or dancing I'm gonna have to take it easy for the next week or so. My body is telling me to slow down. I'm still able to get a full quad stretch on the left leg, but only after working out a lot (like after riding the bike for 30 minutes).

Otherwise though, I am good. My leg has started locking up again in the past 3 days like it did earlier after the surgery but I am sort of used to it. I can still walk at full speed and speed walk too. I think a little bit of a limp has come back, but I feel i'll be out of this funk in a few days. The limp is pretty subtle. Sometimes I have to think about walking heel to toe to get the proper motion down. Going down stairs though has become noticably harder. I can't walk straight down and I am using the handrails again. NEED TO TAKE IT EASY and not strain myself. in other news... as soon as my leg starts feeling like it did a week ago, i'm going to try to take a jog wearing my brace. I'm excited for that.

Not being able to be active is starting to get on my nerves. I long for the day I can run again.
