Product Photography

Want to sell your stuff on ebay at a better prioce than other people selling the same stuff? Good photos are the key!

I just got a new watch and decided to practice my photography skills. I took these photos with 1 softbox that I bought on Ebay and a white plastic reflector on the other side. A lighting setup so simple can result in higher sales of other similar items on Ebay, simply because your product looks much more appealing. If you sell a lot on ebay, your gear will pay for itself very quickly.

Anyhow, here are the photos - makes my stuff look way fancier than it really is :) even the scratched up 2 year old watch I have looks quite nice eh? Something as simple as changing the angle of your light and making the light softer can make a big difference - I guess it's the same with portrait photography. I think it has to do with the fact that the dramatic lighting is just something that people don't see in their everyday lives so the item seems much more special and valuable when viewed in different light. Also controlled light highlights the good and can conceal the not so great.
